Coventry boxer Steve Bendall is looking for his next fight.

The former Tile Hill resident beat Liverpool's Paul Smith on points at the NIA on Saturday night in a fight which many of the national media deemed a shock but many Coventrian knew he would win. Now having won the British Middleweight title, Bendall is looking to the future.

"With me being 34, I haven't really got time to hangabout", said the City supporting southpaw who trains at the Red Corner Gym on Walsgrave Road, in Coventry when he is not down in Bournemouth.

"So over the next few weeks we will be looking at where to go next and I'm looking at fighting again in September.

"Whoever, I fight, I always fight for Coventry as I am a Coventry kid."
