Coventry Darter Steve Hine, free ticket to stardom ended tonight when he was well beaten by Phil The Power Taylor tonight.

At the Alexander Palace tonight in the second round of the 2010 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, the Courthouse Green resident, nicknamed The Muffin Man for his work in an Exhall Bakery, met favourite and World Champion Phil' The Power' Taylor.

The Stoke On Trent darter won the first set 3-0 but Hine who hit two 180's won one leg as Taylor took the second 3-1.

Hine, who earned £10,000 by getting this far,  took the first leg of the third set when he chipped out on nine but Taylor whose average for three darts was over 100, levelled up the set. An eleven darter put Taylor 2-1 up and then he took the third.

Taylor took the first two legs of the fourth and final set and finished on double eighht in the third to wrap up a convincing victory and book his place in the last sixteen.
