A court has adjourned the case of the winding up petition brought against Hinckley United FC.

The Leicestershire based club, faced a winding up petition issued by the Downes Pension Fund and Kevin Downes, something which could see The Knitters liquidated, although Mr Downes told Karen Hembridge of the Hinckley Times yesterday:  “There is still a chance for us to ask the judge on Friday to adjourn the case to allow further time for the club to sort things out.“Channels of communication are open and we are still willing to play ball, none of us want to see the club go into liquidation. “But if the club won’t work with us then there is nothing new we can present at the hearing.”.

The court have adjourned the petition until October 7th, meaning that tomorrow's game against Bashley will go ahead and Hinckley have until then to raise around £200k
