Warwickshire County Cricket Club remain unbeaten after five Twenty20 matches thanks to a 27 run victory at Gloucestershire.

On a sunny day at Bristol and with Michael Powell in for the injured Dougie Brown & Jim Anyon replacing Lee Daggart who has a fractured cheekbone ,Warwicks, who went into the game top of their division, were put into bat and were 0-2 at the end of the first over. Both openers Neil Carter and Darren Maddy out without scoring off the bowling of Anthony Ireland.

Jim Troughton and Tim Ambrose then came to the crease on a slow wicket. By the fifth over, Warwicks had only made 25 and doubled that score by the tenth over despite having Troughton run out for 15.

Alex Loudon was bowled for ten by David Brown to leave Warwicks 68-4.

Tim Ambrose was in good form, hitting a six to take him past the fifty mark. Heath Streak,Alex Loudon and Tim Groenevald all chipped in as Warwicks closed on 149-8 with Ambrose finally out for a score of 77 which was the third highest by a Warwickshire player in Twenty20 cricket.

Needing seven and a half an over to win, Gloucestershire lost Spearman in the third over for nine and an over later Kadi Ali was caught by Maddy with the score on 23.

Jimmy Anyon took the third wicket of Taylor as Warwicks did their best to stop Gloucestershire running away with the game.

At the halfway stage, the Galdiators needed nine per over. A fifth wicket removed Gidman and Ambrose made his second stumping off Harris to leave the score at 71-6 in the thirteenth over.

With five overs to go,it was 89-7 but Warwickshire held their nerve with Tim Groenevald taking two wickets and Heath Streak getting Edmondsen caught by Harris to leave The Gladiators some 27 runs short and Warwickshire still top of the table but now with nine points.

In the second Twenty20 international at the Oval, West Indies batted first.
Chris Gayle made 61 whilst Paul Collingwood and Ryan Sidebottom took two wickets apiece to peg the visitors to a total of 169-7.

Warwickshire's Jon Trott had kept his place in the England team and came in with the score on 25. Unfortunately, he added two runs to the total.

Shah top scored with 55 as England made 173-5 with three balls to spare to win by five wickets and tie the contest.
