First Leg Cup Defeat For Bees

Up for sale Coventry Bees were beaten 46-44 in the Midland Cup at Birmingham Brummies tonight.

The Bees got off to a good start with Olly Allen and Ryan Fisher winning the first heat 4-2. After a 3-3, Birmingham won the next to heats 4-2 to take a two point lead which they kept until Chris Harris and Josh Auty rode for a 5-1 to give the Bees a 28-26 lead.

Both sides won 4-2 before two 3-3 's in heats twelve and thirteen. However, in heat fourteen, Cameron Woodward and Nick Morris could do nothing to stop Ben Barker and Wright picking up a 5-1.

Chris Harris tried his best in the last heat to get the Bees a 5-1 by winning the final heat but Josh Auty could not get round Nermark and Barker and Birmingham took the first leg.

The second leg is at Brandon on Friday night and admission prices have  been reduced.
