First Day Ton For Maddy

Darren Maddy scored a ton on the first day of Warwickshire's County Championship game against Hampshire at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

Ian Westwood hit four fours in a knock of 23 with Jon Trott making a half century before being caught off the bowling of Michael Carberry.

Maddy and Troughton settled things down and pushed the total onwards with the skipper htting fifteen fours to reach his century.

The second batting point had been knocked up when Jim Troughton was caught behind by the substitute wicket keeper for 44. Alex Loudon (6 not out) came in only for the rain to suspend play with the score at 267-3 and Maddy not out on 121 from 263 balls.
