Coventry born Cal Crutchlow finished fifth in the Moto GP Iveco TT in Assen today.
The Yamaha rider had to take evasive action and dropped down to ninth on the opening laps.
He steadily worked his way back up and finished a creditable behind race winner Casey Stoner.
Cal Crutchlow tweeted: "Not a bad result in the end ! 5th from last at turn 1 after the crash incident ! Not happy at all with that and glad Jorge is ok after the bandit Bautista took us all out. Had pace for podium in race which can take positive from ! Oh well maybe nxt time , congrats to others."
