Fifth For Marlon

Marlon Devonish finished fifth in the World Athletics Final in Stuttgart,Germany.

The Coventry runner and City supporter ran the 100m in a time of 10.18 but was well beaten by world record holder Asafa Powell who clocked up a time of 9.83 seconds to knock six tenths of a second off the record he set in the meeting a year ago.

The race was Devonish's fourth in sixteen days.

Former Coventry City Girls winger Karen Carney played for England in a 3-0 defeat to the USA which knocks England out of the Women's World Cup at the Quarter-Final stage. All the goals came in the second half.
