In front of a healthy crowd, Warwicks took the third wicket in the sixth over when Marshall, who had made 13, was bowled by Tim Gronevald to leave the score at the end of the over on 28-3.

Into the eleventh over and with the score on 59, Steve North hit one into the air and was caught. Mark Hardings was next to go in to next over, dragging onto his wicket from a ball from Ant Botha and then Adshead became another wicket for Iain Salisbury, who took on the captaincy duty after Ian Westwood went off with a badly bruised finger on his left hand.

Chris Taylor came in and hit two consecutive sixes and two fours to complete his half century out of a score on 104-6. His partner Ian Fisher fell to Chris Martin in the 17th over and Will Rudge was caught by Gronevald on the last ball of the 18th over.

Steve Kirby was the next to depart to become Gronevald's second victim as the innings went into the final over. Taylor hit his fourth six but in the next ball he tried the same trick and Ant Botha caught him for 66 and Gloucestershire 131 all out.

Warwicks started well with Neil Carter hitting four sixes in a quick fire innings of 34 before he was caught. Warwicks were 49-1 needing 83 from ninety balls.
