Farmer Hat-Trick But Blaze Lose

Robert Farmer hit a hat-trick for Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team who were beaten in over-time at Braehead Clan tonight.

There were only a few hardy Blaze fans in Glasgow to see the Blaze have Brad Cruickshank back icing after his suspension.

Coventry took the lead when Robert Farmer scored a powerplay goal assisted by Greg Owen and Brad Cruickshank but the Scottish side were level on 14.14 thanks to Bruce Richarsdson.

Into the second period and Farmer found the net again, assisted by Brad Zanon and Greg Owen.

Adam Walker levelled the match and on 30.59, John Landry scored to give The Clan a 3-2 lead. Farmer completed his hat-trick and with just over five minutes of the second period remaining Brendan Cook scored to put The Clan back in front.

On 48.54, Luke Fulghum for Coventry and with no more goals in regular time, the match went to over-time.

Unfortunately, Cody Bostock found the net for the Clan and the Blaze who play at Dundee Stars on Saturday took a point but went down to a 5-4 defeat.
