England, fielding Warwickshire duo Ian Bell and Jon Trott, have won the Ashes beating Australia 2-1 after a 197 run victory at The Oval today.

Australia started the day needing 466 more runs to win but lost two early wickets.

Watson and Katich went. The Freddie Flintoff in his last England match, took the wicket of Australian captain Ricky Ponting.

Australia were on 217-3 and England were now starting to sense that they could wrap this match up.

With Clarke run out by Strauss, North followed for ten. A 91 partnership between Hussey who made 121 and Haddin was ended when the latter was another victim of Graham Swann who took four wickets.

Johnson, Siddle and Clark offered no resistance and with the England support going mental, Hussey was caught by Cook off the bowling off Swann to see Australia all out for 348 and England winners by 197 runs.

"We have to saviour these times as they dont come round very often, "said Ian Bell after the game.
