Coventry Bees rider Emil Sayfutdinov got all the way to the final of the British Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff only to be excluded after being taken down.
The Russian amassed ten points from his five rides including two wins in heats twelve and fifteen and two second places to make the first semi-final.
He was in the final along with Greg Hancock, Andreas Jonsson and Jason Crump and after passing Hancock who gated first, he won the heat to book his place in the final.
However, in the final, he was excluded after a big fall which happened when Nicky Pedersen hit Chris Holder who took out the Bees rider who is still to make his Brandon debut.
The race was stopped and it looked like all four would return but the Polish referee decided to exclude Sayfutdinov and it was Greg Hancock who rode to victory.
