Eight Goal Blaze Win At Hull

Coventry Blaze won 8-2 at Hull Stingrays tonight in an Elite League fixture.

Coventry made the most of Matt Davies being off the ice for slashing and Greg Owen put the Blaze ahead with a powerplay goal on 15.14, assisted by Peter Nylander and Woo-Sang Park.

On 17.30, Owen Fussey added a second, assisted by Shea Guthrie and  Robert Farmer and twenty four seconds later, Peter Nylander scored his first goal for the Blaze when he fired home, assisted by Mike McLean and  Matic Kralj.

It was two power-play goals in the second perid which helped the Blaze go nap. Matic Kralj scored on 22.14, assisted by Dustin Wood and  Jonathan Weaver and thirty seven seconds later, Owen Fussey bagged his second of the night, assisted by  Shea Guthrie and Robert Farmer.

Hull pulled one back through former Blaze player Sylvain Cloutier on 37.53 but a minute and fifty three seconds into the third, It was 6-1 when Owen Fussey completed his hat-trick, assisted by Dustin Wood,  and Shea Guthrie.

The goals continued to come with a second for Peter Nylander on 45.38, assisted by Mathias Soderstrom and Mike McLean.

Then Matic Kralj hit his second of the night and the Blaze's eighth on 49.39, assisted by Mike McLean, Jonathan Weaver.

Andrew McKinney did score a second for Hull with a unassisted power-play goal on 57.11 but it did little to take the gloss off a fine victory for Coventry Blaze.
