Coventry born Cal Crutchlow crashed out of the Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya this afternoon.
Crutchlow, who had podium finishes in his last two Moto GP races, started second on the grid but crashed on lap six.
Jorge Lorenzo has won for the third time in four years, beating Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez.
A disappointed Crutchlow tweeted; "Really disappointed with today ! So sorry to my team. We have been working great. Just need to try and work out out bike for start of race.
"Completely my fault and will re group and look forward to the next race ! Test tomorrow at Barcelona hopefully try something to help."
