Local darter and Coventry City supporter Steve Beaton was again beaten by Phil 'The Power Taylor' in the Players Championship at Wigan.
Beaton had already lost to Taylor in Wolverhampton but beat fellow Coventry darts player Steve Hines 6-5, Adrian Bolitho 6-2 in the second round, Kevin Painter 6-1 in the third, Wes Newton 6-2, Michael van Gerwen 6-5 in the Quarter-Finals before losing 6-0 to Taylor who won the tournament in the semi-final.
Coventry's Kevin Dowling went out in the second round with a 6-3 defeat to Dennis Ovens after beating Steve Maish 6-2.
