Coventry Blaze Win Away On Penalties

Coventry Blaze needed penalties to beat Edinburgh Capitals tonight.

A handful of Blaze fans made the trip to the Scottish capital to see Hartmann give the Capitals the lead with a powerplay goal on 18.36.

On 37,30, Jarolin made it 2-0 but back came Coventry with an unassisted Matic Kralj goal, twenty six seconds into the third period and five minutes later, Bakrlik levelled thanks to an assist from McLean and Domish who broke his stick hitting a shot which deflected into the path of Bakrlik.

The Blaze had most of the play but could not find another goal and the game went into over-time.

That failed to produce a goal so it went to penalties. Both sides missed their first, so it went to the second round. Robert Farmer missed as did an Edinburgh player so a third round was required. Kralj hit the post as did the Caps player, so the match went to sudden death.

Robert Farmer scored this time and Hirsch saved the Caps pen to give the Blaze a 3-2 victory.
