Coventry Blaze went down to an over-time defeat at Sheffield Steelers tonight.

The Blaze were straight on the attack with a powerply goal from Kenny Kallstrom on 2.39, assisted by Michael Devin and Russ Cowley.

Five minutes and ten seconds later and again on the powerplay, Michael Devin made it two, with a goal assisted by Ryan Ginand and Adam Henrich.

On 8.20, it was three when Shea Guthrie scored, assisted by Adam Henrich and Michael Henrich.

However, two goals in twenty seconds reduced the Blaze's lead to just one goal. Gord Baldwin scored on the powrerplay on 17.40 and nineteen seconds later, Steve Goetzen scored a second in a first period where the Steelers had 13 shots to the Blaze's ten.

The Blaze only had eight shots compared to Sheffield's 12 in the second period but went into the third period still 3-2 up.

That did not last as although Adam Henrich scored for the Blaze, another Baldwin goal and one from Spencer sent the match into over-time with the score at 4-4.

However, it was not the Blaze's night as Dowd scored to give Sheffield the win with the Steelers second shot in over-time..
