Coventry Blaze Lose Again To The Steelers

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Team were beaten 4-3 in over-time by the Sheffield Steelers.

At the Sky Dome tonight, the Blaze took the lead on 3.51 through Greg Leeb, assisted by Benn Olson and James Griffin.

Sheffield levelled through a power play goal on 10.02 from Ashley Tait but Paul Thompson's team were back in front when Mike Schutte scored an unassisted powerplay goal on 15.43.

Just before the end of the first, parity was restored when Drew Fata found the net.

On 23.56, Sheffield took the lead for the first time of the night when Jeff Legue scored a powerplay goal, assisted by Colin Shields & Ashley Tait.

However, Legue was soon out of the game when he received a five minute plus game penalty for high sticking with Benn Olson.

On 36.27, Coventry equalised when Dale White scored, assisted by Leeb to see it 3-3 at the end of the second period.

Lee Esders, Rod Sarich, Shea Gutherie and Matt Selby all got five  minutes for fighting but there were no goals and the match went to over-time.

Last night, The Steelers had beaten the Blaze and they did so again when Colin Shields scored on 61.67 to see Coventry go down to a 4-3 over-time defeat.
