Coventry Blaze went down to a 5-2 Challenge Cup defeat at Hull Stingrays on Wednesday night.

The Blaze, who will be live on Premier Sports on Saturday November 23rd for their home game against the Belfast Giants, took the lead at The Hull Arena on 11.14 with a powerplay goal from Ryan Ginand, assisted by Adam Henrich and Ashley Tait.

Hull were then on the powerplay and equalised on 16.11 through Matty Davies, assisted by Tendler and Doucet.

On 29.07, the third goal of the evening fell to the home side with Tendler finding the net for a DPG, assisted by Cloutier and Davies. However, just over two minutes later, parity was restored thanks to Ryan Ginand finding the net, assisted again by Adam Henrich and Ashley Tait.

Before the second period ended, there was a fight between Giudice, Selby, Pacha and Mariani, who all got two minutes for roughing.

The Blaze got back to full strength but with Kevin Harvey off the ice for slashing, Hull took the lead again when Mariani netted on 44.27, assisted by Doucet and Davies, which was his 100th assist.

On 51.25, Lauzon scored a fourth goal on the power play, assisted by Pacha and Mariani and on 59.24, Hull finished off what had turned into a miserable night for the Blaze with a fifth goal from Tendler, who scored an empty net goal, assisted by Ondrej.
