Coventry Blaze are the Elite League Champions after a 4-3 over-time victory at Edinburgh Capitals tonight.

Over 150 Coventry Blaze fans made the journey to Edinburgh and they were treated to the Blaze taking the lead on 12.08 through Brad Cruickshank, assisted by Greg Owen.

Adam Calder hit a second goal for Coventry, assisted by Jon Weaver on 17.58.

Edinburgh scored the only goal of the second period through Welsh, assisted by Hutchins on 23.54.

It was all end to end stuff with Blaze net minder Peter Hirsch making some excellent saves but on 51.25, Welsh equalised.

Blaze struggled to hit the target as the seconds clicked away. Edinburgh went up the other end and on 56.49, they scored.

Prayers were being said amongst the Coventry support at the game, in Crosbys and watching on the net and with 27 seconds left, Adam Calder scored to tie the game and send it into over-time.

Then in over-time, Blaze ensured that they were the Champions with Adam Calder completing a hat-trick to give them a 4-3 victory and the Elite League title with tomorrow's game against Belfast Giants to spare.
