Coventry Bees Well Beaten At Poole

Coventry Bees went down to a 56-38 defeat at Poole Pirates.

A packed house at Wimbourne Road saw Poole riding without World Champion Greg Hancock, who had a visa issue.

Krzystof Kasprzak and Michael Szczepaniak went in the opening heat for the Bees but Poole took a 5-1 through Darcy Ward and Thomas Jonasson, who held off Kazprzak who had clipped Szczepaniak's back wheel in the first lap.

Aaron Summers and Roynon were next up anf they surged into a 5-1 lead after the first lap but Roynon dropped back behind Dyer and Tungate and it was a 3-3.

Heat three saw Stuart Robson and Zengota ride.Grezegorz Zengota took the lead whilst Robson chased hard at the back but could not get a point in a 3-3.

Scott Nicholls and Adam Roynon had the ride in heat four. Poole took the lead but Nicholls split Janowski and Dyer on lap two but it was a 4-2 to the Pirates which gave them a six point lead.

Kasprzak's second ride was in heat five and he took to the track along with Szczepaniak. Darcy Ward took the lead and stayed in front ahead of Szczepaniak and Kasprzak for another 3-3 which had Poole 18-12 up.

Aaron Summers and Scott Nicholls went in heat six but Jonasson held his line on the opening lap and with Ward storming away, it was a 5-1 to the Pirates.

Zengota took the tactical ride in heat seven with the Bees ten points down and rode with Stuart Robson in a heat which saw Janowski get past Zengota who had gated on the opening lap and it was a 5-3 win for the Bees.

Adam Roynon took the lead in heat eight but Jonasson got past him on the first lap and took the win with Szczepaniak third for a 3-3.

Janowski got to the front and battled with Scott Nicholls but it was a 4-2 to Poole in heat nine.

Darcy Ward and Jonasson took the lead in heat ten against Zengota and Robson and it stayed that way as they took a 5-1 with a wheel giving Jonasson the win..

With the Bees 38-24 down, Kasprzak took the tactical ride in heat eleven which also saw Michael Szczepaniak ride against Turngate and Maciej Janowski who rode away for his fourth victory with Kazprzak second and Szczepaniak third in a 5-3 to the Bees.

Summers and Zengota had the ride in heat twelve for the Bees who needed three 5-1's to get a result. Poole went straight into a 5-1 and kept it to go 46-30 up.

Heat Thirteen saw Janowski and Ward straight into a 5-1 win against Nicholls and Kazprzak.

Roynon and Robson went in heat fourteen and there was a crash in the first lap which saw Rohan Turngate take down Adam Roynon who reacted quickly to avoid injuring Turngate who was disqualified from the re-run. Josh Grajczonek got to the front and won the heat in a 3-3, keeping Poole's twenty point lead.

Gary Havelock, who said that his side had been given a lesson in gating, fielded Nicholls and Zengota whilst Poole had replaced Ward who blew an engine went with Grajczonek and Janowski. Zengota and Nicholls got to the front but in a great heat Janowski split them and Zengota held on whilst Nicholls batted in third for a 4-2 win which saw the Bees lose 56-38.

Poole are in the play-offs in fourth place whilst the Bees stay seventh.
