Coventry Bees were heavily beaten 61-35 at Birmingham Brummies tonight.

In their penultimate Elite League fixture of the season, which will see the Bees disgracefully finish bottom, they guested Josh Grajczonek.

Former Bees rider Chris Harris won the first heat in a 5-1 and although Michael Szczepanial won the second heat in a 3-3, Birmingham were soon back to winning ways with Ben Barker winning a 5-1.

Heat four had to be twice re-run with Szczepaniak excluded but Scott Nicholls took the win for a 3-3.

Birmingham were now eight points clear but after winning the next four heats 5-1, they took a 36-12 lead into heat nine.

Scott Nicholls took the tactical ride and won the heat for a 6-3. Birmingham hit back with a 5-1 so Kazprzak took the tactical ride and won in a 6-3.

Two 3-3's were followed by a easy win for Ben Barker in a 5-1 before the final heat was stopped after a crash on the third bend of the second lap. Ben Barker, for whom an ambulance was brought onto the track, was excluded after being blamed for taking down Scott Nicholls who got up.
