Coventry Bears Rugby League Club beat Leicester Storm for the third time this season to virtually ensure the Cooperative Rugby League Midlands Premier Division League Leaders Trophy on Saturday.

Kurt Johnson put Coventry ahead in the 15th minute before tries from Scott Clendenning-Fenton and John Nichols had Coventry 18-0 up at half-time.

Seven minutes into the second half, Nathan Tilsley intercepted a Leicester pass and raced 50 metres to score which was followed by a second try for Kurt Johnson.

Leicester hit back with three tries before Karl Wesley scored for Coventry. Leicester scored the final try of the game but Coventry were 36-18 winners.

With four games to play and a 4 point cushion, one point from the last two games will mean the Coventry Bears cannot be caught. Even without that point the Bears have a massive points dfferential over their rivals of well over three hundred points.

Next Saturday, Coventry Bears are at home to Gloucestershire Warriors.
