Coventry Bears Go Down To Late Defeat

Coventry Bears Rugby League team suffered defeat in their opening league game of the season.

Alan Robinson's side travelled to Wigan St Cuthberts and were 6-0 up in three minutes when Reece Needham scored under the post.

The home side ran in two tries before Coventry came back thanks to Ross Bayston scoring a try converted by Coleman.

Again, Wigan ran in two tries but Ben Tyers scored to make it Wigan 28 Coventry 10 at half-time.

Bayston scored on the left and then equalised through a Ryan Gowling kick.

Into the last ten minutes and Wigan added two more points with a penalty kick and then ran in a try to see Coventry start their season with a 28-34 defeat.
