Coventry Alliance League Looking For New Clubs

Last updated : 13 February 2012 By Coventry Alliance

The Coventry Alliance League are looking for more clubs to join their league.

The open-age league, which was formed in the 1930s, caters for clubs in the Warwickshire/Leicestershire/West Midlands area and currently has 69 teams spread over six divisions.

The loss of several top-quality works league grounds have affected numbers over the past twenty years and assistant secretary Peter Bromwich says the league must ease guidelines in order to attract new clubs.

He said: “Although the conditions for playing in the Premier Division are very strict, we will probably be looking to relax some of the guidelines for playing in the bottom divisions.

“If new clubs were admitted under these conditions, it would give them an opportunity to look for an improved facility to enable them to move up the league.

“If a club does wish to join the Alliance, they should discuss ground requirements before making an official application. The league will do all they can to help.”
