Cov Rugby Start Home Campaign With A Win

Coventry Rugby Club started their home National League One campaign with a 38-13 win over Cinderford.

A crowd of 1184 at the Butts Park Arena saw Cliff Hodgson kick a fourth minute penalty but the visitors then come back to equalise with a Davies penalty three minutes later.

The first try of the game came in the 14th minute and fell for Phil Maynard's side. Poole ran in the try and Hodgson converted and this was followed in the 21st minute by a try for Maisey and Hodgson again converting.

Davies kicked a second penalty for Cinderford but Coventry led 17-6 at half-time.

Three minutes after the re-start and Le Roux ran in a try which was converted by Hodgson who also converted when Hurrell went over in the 62nd minute.

Maisey ran in his second try which Hodgson converted and in the third minute of stoppage time, Hanks ran in a try for Cinderford which Davies converted as Coventry ran out 38-13 winners.
