Cov Rugby Hold On To Win

Coventry Rugby Club held on to beat Tyndale 36-34 at the Butts Park Arena this afternoon.

A crowd of 1112 saw Coventry take the lead in the eighth minute with a Cliff Hodgson try and then converting a Hurrell try four minutes later.

Tyndale, second from bottom in the table, pulled a try back through Shields, only for Coventry to go up the other end and score through a 22nd minute Nash try which Hodgson converted.

Poole ran in a 31st minute try, converted by Hodgson but a Shields try in the 36th minute, converted by Beasley and an Outsen try two minutes into stoppage time made it 29-22 at half-time.

Illingworth brough Tyndale within two points with a try on the hour mark before Myring went over for Coventry in the 74th minute with Hodgson converting.

The game went into stoppage time and Tyndale scored in the seventh minute in the seventh minute through Rundle but the conversion was  was missed and Coventry won by two points.
