Coventry Bears Rugby League team hammered the Royal Engineers 64-18 in a friendly at the Butts Park Arena.

In a game arranged due to the Bears not having a game, following the withdrawing of Wigan St Cuthbert from the division. Royal Engineers were the visitors to the Butts Park Arena, the Bears were 12-6 up inside the first twenty minutes.

Alex Mills Baker scored a try, converted by Coleman and Dave O'Connor scored his second try of the afternoon which Coleman converted before the Engineers replied with a try of their own.

That meant Coventry were 24-12 up at halt-time and in the second half, Josh Bell scored, converted by Coleman, followed by tries for Alex Beddows, Tawanda Chipadza and Josh Bell.

The Engineers ran in their third try of the game but Cov finished off with two tries from George Carlton and one for Alex Beddows to give Coventry a 64-18 win.
