City Ladies Off But Reserves Through To Semis

Coventry City Ladies' Womens Premier League Northern Division home fixture against Curzon Ashton was postponed today due to a frozen pitch.

The match was called off by the referee thirty minutes before kick off after an inspection.

Manager Paul Cudby told the Coventry City Ladies official club website: "This is the third week in a row that the weather has played havoc with our fixtures, looks like we will be having a number of games to rearrange for the New Year.

City Ladies face Solihull in a County Cup game next Sunday.

Coventry City Ladies Reserves are through to Semi-Finals of the FA Women's Premier League Reserve Cup thanks to a 2-0 victory over Doncaster Belles Reserves at Cryfield Pitches at the University of Warwick.

Jamie Lee Fowler opened the scoring for City with a goal from the edge of the box in the 73rd minute and Stacey Christe added a second with an 89th minute penalty.

City Ladies Reserves Manager Mark Kavanagh said to the City Ladies website: "This is a great result against a very good team and continues our unbeaten record in the League Cup. We have pulled together a very good team and to reach the semi final of the League Cup in our first season is a fantastic result for the team".
