A second successive hat-trick for Kirsty Robson helped Coventry City Ladies earn another Women's Premier League Northern Division victory with a 5-0 win over Preston North End.

Coventry had the better of the opening spell on a heavy bog of a pitch at Bamber Bridge with a 22 yard strike from Crissy Torkildsen beaten onto the post by the home keeper.

A hat-trick from Kirsty Robson sent Paul Cudby's side on their way in the second half.

Firstly Robson was put through and side footed into bottom right corner to put the Sky Blues one up and then Milly Durrant got to the byline and squared for Robson to volley into the net.

Robson completed her hat-trick when she collected Jade Formaston's measured pass through the channel and lashed into the far corner of the net from twenty yards.

City were in total charge as a Jade Formaston dipping strike from 25 yards went just over.

A fourth goal duly arrived when Torkildsen played a ball into the channel for Durrant who got to the byeline and squared for Helen Dermody to turn and lay the ball off to Torkildsen whose rasping shot was parried by the keeper and fell for Leanne McKenna to score.

Durrant had a goal ruled out for offside before Cudby sent on Allen and Clough on for Torkildsen and Robson.

Preston did force City keeper Sue Wood into one finger tip save but City went straight down the other end and a free kick from the touchline by Dermody picked picked out Leanne McKenna who headed into the roof of net for City’s fifth goal and their tenth in two matches.

City Ladies are in the Semi-Finals of the Birmingham County FA Women's Cup with a home game against Leafield Athletic for the right to meet Aston Villa or Birmingham City in the final, next Sunday.
