Coventry City Ladies went down to a Cup Final defeat against Aston Villa. In a repeat of the 2009 Birmingham County FA Womens Cup Fiinal which Villa won 2-0.

Paul Cudby again was without a number of players including Jade Formaston, and was forced to field players suffering from illness and against a side managed by former City managers Stuart Wilson and Neil Wilson, they conceded three early corners before Karen Clough fired after being sent clear.

Clarke headed wide for Villa in a game where the rules permitted roll on-roll off substitutes. Natalie Courtney three times and Vaughan had efforts on goals before the half hour mark.

Then it all changed when Kirsty Robson squared in the 32nd minute for Callen Barber to lash home from the edge of the area.

Villa kept pressing until the half ended. Four minutes into the second half, Villa attacking up the slope at Tamworth FC's Lamb Ground, equalised when Kelly Clarke broke and thumped an unstoppable shot into the net from the edge of the area.

Three minutes later, Villa took the lead when City keeper Netty Manca failed to hold a Langly cross and Jade Richards bundled the loose ball into the net.

Villa really could have wrapped up the match, missing a number of chances and forcing City to concede a host of corners, but in the 77th minute, City were level thanks to Helen Dermody curling a 25 yard free kick high in to the net.

Villa went straight up the other end and Emma Folis raced through to put Villa back in front and give them the cup.
