Charities Benefit From Coventry Charity Cup

COVENTRY CHARITY CUP PRESENTATION EVENING BY KEV MONKS 

Eleven thousand pounds was presented to fifteen local charities by the Coventry Charity Football Cup Committee.

The Coventry Charity Football Cup, which first started in 1907 as the Coventry Nursing Football Cup, raises monies through its football competition won in 2009 by Alvis FC at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry and a number of fundraising events throughout the year. This year, a total of £11,000 will go to the nominated charities.

Tonight at the Merrick Lodge Hotel, the following charities were presented with cheques: Warwickshire & Nothamptonshire Air Ambulance, Broad Park House, RSPCA, Sycamore Counselling Services, Diabetes UK, Acorns Children’s Hospice, Bradbury House, Coventry Deaf Sports & Social Club, Mary Ann Evans Hospice, Community Broadcasting Services (Coventry), Coventry & District Amateur Footballer’s Welfare Fund, Entrust Care, R.A.F.A. and Bermuda And Stockingford Intensive Care Services.

Alveston, Brooklands-Jaguar, Christ The King, Coventry Copsewood, Mount Nod Highway and Witherley are all in with a chance of making the final, which will be played on Tuesday May 4th at the Ricoh Arena.
