Blaze Win In Hull

Coventry Blaze won 5-3 tonight at Hull Stingrays in a Challenge Cup match.

Around fifty Blaze fans travelled to Hull and saw former Coventry player - Sylvain Cloutier give the Stingrays the lead on 16.20.

It got worse shortly after when an Adam Calder goal was wiped out and the Stingrays hit a second on 18.34 through Kalmikov.

After a lecture from coach Paul Thompson, the Blaze were straight on the attack at the start of the second period and on 20.39, Joe Henry fired home assisted by Watkins and Fulghum.

The goal boosted the Blaze and they levelled on 27.08 when Brian Lee fired home from s rebound assisted by Fulghum.

Another former Blaze man Curtis Huppe had Hull 3-2 ahead on 31.46 when he scored but the Blaze reply was instant with Brian Lee scoring, assisted by Cowley and Calder on 32.10.

Exactly a minute was played before the Blaze took the lead with their fourth goal of the night thanks to Adam Calder scoring on 33.10.

With less than ten minutes of the match remaining, Adam Calder hit his second of the night, assisted by Campbell and Cowley to give the Blaze a 5-3 victory.

Tomorrow night, the Sheffield Steelers visit the Skydome. Face off is at 6pm.
