Blaze Win In Edinburgh

Coventry Blaze won 6-3 at at Edinburgh Capitals tonight.

Paul Thompson's side who were third in the table opened the scoring at Murrayfield with a shorthanded goal on 08.40 from Dan Carlson.

Edinburgh levelled twenty six seconds later through a powerplay goal from Sean Perkins. But on 16.08, Russ Cowley made it 2-1 to the Blaze when he fired home.



The second period saw Mark Hurtubise equalised for the Scots on 23 minutes. He had scored in the Allstars game at the Sky Dome on Thursday night and another of the scorers in the game which the South won 12-10 was Adam Calder.

The Blaze forward put Coventry back in front on 35.55 and after Greg Wood has made it 5-2 on 36.09, he hit his 36th goal of the season with Blaze on a powerplay.

Edinburgh kept JF Perras busy in the third period and the Coventry net minder did let in another goal when Perkins pulled one back on 52.21.

On 57.31, Ben O'Connor added a sixth for the Blaze to complete a good night's work.

Edinburgh are the visitors tomorrow night at the Sky Dome. Face off is at 6pm.
