Coventry Blaze won their first friendly with a 6-2 win against Great Britain U20's.

Paul Thompson's side were 2-0 ahead at the end of the first period thanks to goals from Sylvain Deschalets and Barrie Moore.

In a good performance from the Blaze which bodes well for the season ahead, there were more goals to come.

Canadian Scott Kelman hit the third goal in the second period with Man Of The Match Leigh Jamieson finding the net twice in the third period.

Danny Stewart also scored to give Blaze a 6-2 victory.

As part of a gruelling pre-season schedule the whole team will be making an appearance at Cathedral Lanes to meet the supporters, sign autographs and get their photos taken.

Come and get your autograph from the Blaze stars tomorrow (28th August) in Cathedral Lanes Shopping Centre between 2pm and 3pm.

Cathedreal Lanes Shopping Centre is located by the Godiva Statue in town, opposite the Starbucks.

Bring your autograph books and your Blaze jerseys to make this a really colourful event. Brand new 08/09 headshots and mini Blaze hockey sticks will be on sale.
