Coventry Blaze were the best of British tonight after beating Sheffield Scimitars 16-10 on aggregate.

At the SkyDome tonight, Paul Thompson rested most of his side, fielding Greg Chambers, Adam Calder, Dan Carlson and Luke Fulghum alongside a number of youngsters for the second leg.

However, yet again, Coventry were too good for Sheffield and won by the same score-line 8-5 they had won in the first leg.

It is now back to matters of trying to win the Elite League title this week and the Blaze will look for wins away at Nottingham Panthers on Saturday before they take on Sheffield Steelers on Sunday at the SkyDome.

Greg Chambers will be able to play in the weekend's matches. The Forward will return to the Blaze line up this weekend after the automatic disciplinary review of his match penalty confirmed that no further action would be taken.

Chambers was assessed the match penalty by referee Andy Carson in last Friday's defeat at the hands of the Steelers in Sheffield which meant that he was automatically suspended for the home win over the Devils on Saturday.

After the automatic review by the league's Manager of Discipline, Simon Kirkham, it has been confirmed that no further action is to be taken and Chambers is free to return to the Blaze line up with immediate effect.
