Blaze Win At Sheffield

Coventry Blaze won tonight at Sheffield Steelers 4-1 in an Elite League fixture.

At the Sheffield Arena where the Blaze lost to the hosts on Sunday in the final of the 20/20 Hockeyfest, The Blaze were soon in a 5-3 powerplay with Phillips and Hutchings off the ice.

This allowed Adam Calder to fire Coventry ahead on 3.01 with assists from Jon Weaver and Greg Chambers.

The first two periods saw The Blaze have 19 shots compared to the Steelers 15 and it was one of those that led to Jeff Legue levelling the match on 39.00.

Paul Thompson's side got off to a great start in the third period when on 40.35, Danny Stewart scored assisted by Owen and Chambers.

Sheffield dominated possession with Blaze net minder Peter Hirsch making some good saves. Then on 52.56, Coventry went up the other end and Jon Weaver fired home assisted by Chambers and Robinson.

The goalscoring did not end there and Luke Fulghum fired in a fourth assisted by Robinson on 57.19 for The Blaze ahead of tomorrow night's home game against Nottingham Panthers. Face off is at 6pm.
