Blaze win

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team won 5-2 at Newcastle Vipers tonight.

Blaze took sixty fans to the Whitly Bay Arena in Newcastle tonight and they were the ones cheering in a half full arena when Adam Calder fed Jon Weaver and he fired home through a crowded area in the tenth minute of the first period.

Eight seconds into a powerplay, Newcastle drew level through Kindle on 13.38 before Tejchma made it 2-1 to the Vipers with another powerplay goal on 17.49.

The second period was underway and on 34.55, Brian Lee, assisted by Chambers and Weaver had the Blaze all square. Just before the end of the period, The Blaze fans were celebrating once more when Adam Calder fired home from a Weaver assist.

Into the final period and Brian Lee hit his second goal of the night, assisted by Cowley and Soderstrom on 51.43.

In the last minute, a good victory was wrapped up by Dan Carlson scoring into an empty net to give The Blaze a 5-2 victory.

On Sunday night, the Vipers visit the Sky Dome. Face off is at 6pm
