Blaze Win At Cardiff

Coventry Blaze kept top of the Elite League table with a 4-3 victory at Cardiff Devils tonight.

The home side took the lead on 9.38 through an unassisted Mike Hartwick goal but Coventry were back level on 16.02 through a powerplay goal from Dan Carlson with assists by  Luke Fulghum and Greg Chambers.

48 seconds into the second period, Cardiff were 2-1 up thanks to a power play goal from Jay Latulippe.

Dan Carlson was in great form and hit his second of the night on 30.07 with Derek Campbell making it 3-2 to the Blaze on 38.10.

Campbell's evening got worse in the third period when on 47.07 he got into a fight with Brad Voth. Referee Thompson gave Voth 25 minutes plus five minutes penalty for instigating but Campbell was hit with 25 minutes for fighting, 20 minutes for cross checking and another five minutes for the same offence.

Max Birbraer put Cardiff level on 50.10 but with less than two minutes of the match remaining, Luke Fulghum set up Greg Chambers to hit the winner and send the travelling Blaze support back over the border happy with a 4-3 win. 

Tonight, the Blaze are at home to Sheffield Steelers. Face off is at 6pm.
