Blaze v Hull on Sunday

Fun for all the family at 10th Anniversary celebration game

This Sunday will see the Hull Stingrays visit the Skydome for another big Elite League clash at 6pm. However, this will also be the day the Blaze celebrate 10 years in the city of three spires.

A whole afternoon of entertainment will commence at 2pm with Mercia's favourite presenter John Dalziel opening the festivities at Crosby's Bar, attached to the Arena. An action packed run up to the Stingrays game will include fun for all the family with all children having an opportunity from 2.15pm to 'Skate with Scorch', our Mascot, before Magic Max entertains them with illusions and balloon modelling from 3pm. Max's hour long magic show will then be followed by face-painting for the youngsters and the one and only Scorch will be rejoining the excitement up to doors opening for the game at 5pm.

While Scorch and Magic Max are entertaining the children, the adults will be able to put their minds to some informal table based trivia with both question and picture rounds, from 2pm. A family ticket to the play-off quarter finals is up for grabs to the individual who shows the best knowledge of our ten years since the Blaze moved into the Skydome. The adults will also be kept amused by some intermittent magic from Max's friends and at 4pm John Dalziel will present the question and answer sessions beginning with veteran of over 350 games for the club, Gareth Owen and Grand Slam Champion, Joel Poirier. Joining those two will be the now London policeman AJ Kelham - the club's all time second highest goal scorer, Nottingham builder and former Blaze winger Mark Twaite, along with Grand Slam backup goalie Dan Shea, the Club's all time leading penalty taker Kurt Irvine, GB star and former BNL double winner Shaun Johnson and all time leading scorer, ! the legend Sir Steve Chartrand.

At 4.45pm Thommo will give his regular pre-game talk and then at 5pm doors will open and the day's merriment will spill into the Skydome Arena in preparation for our Elite League clash versus the Stingrays side. On entrance to the Arena don't forget to grab your free pair of bam-bams and get them blown up as part of the clubs biggest giveaway. Each fan will receive these fantastic inflatable banger sticks as a thank you for your continued support and to create a memorable atmosphere in the Skydome Arena.

Before the game gets under way we'll be raising a banner signifying our ten years in Coventry and to emphasise the relationship the Blaze has with the City, we are delighted that the Lord Mayor will be attending the game, supporting the day by dropping a commemorative puck to start the match.

As part of the celebrations the special 10th year anniversary jerseys are being auctioned off with minimum bids set to £50 and 'buy it now' available at £250. The auction will close at the puck drop for the third period and winning bidders are invited to collect their shirts straight off the back of the player after the presentations and have their picture taken with the player and their shirt! Pictures will then be available to collect from the match-night shop at the following game against Nottingham on the 7th.

After the team have relinquished their jersey's the whole team will be signing autographs and then joining you in Crosby's bar for a drink.

With a chance to win a Peter Hirsch 10th Anniversary jersey straight off his back, on ice games and the opportunity to win a fantastic American sweet goodie box in our 4th July Chuck a Puck, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.

Don't miss this unbelievable day of fun for the whole family.
