Blaze Thumped In Nottingham

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Club were thrashed 10-1 tonight at Nottingham Panthers.

Nottingham were ahead on 2.31 when Champagne scored, assisted by Myers. Twenty five seconds later, Champagne was on the scoresheet again, adding a second, assisted by Wilson and Clark.

After Farmer and Wilson had received five minutes for fighting, Benedict scored a third on 8.19.

Nottingham's fourth goal came a minute and fifty two seconds into the second period when Benedict fired home and a fifth goal came courtesy of Myers on 25.33.

The goals continued in the third period with Clarke hitting a sixth on 45.40 and Lachowicz scoring a short handed goal on 47.03.

The Blaze did give their fans something to cheer with a consolation goal on 48.57 when Gordon scored a powerplay goal, assisted by Weaver and Fulghum but Corey Neilson scored against his former side on 50-52.

Champagne completed his hat-trick on 56.56 and on 59.35, Francis scored to give Nottingham a 10-1 win.
