Coventry Blaze made it a winning double weekend with a 4-2 victory over Hull Stingrays tonight.

In a half full Sky Dome, it was the twenty or so Hull supporters who were the first to have something to sing about in this Challenge Cup Group B match when Konstantin Kamilkov opened the scoring on 4.10.

Two minutes later and the Blaze support who had been in good voice in Belfast last night were on their feet cheering as Jon Weaver equalised assisted by Campbell.

Blaze had 12 shots to the Stingrays nine as the match went into the second period.

And it was Coventry who took the lead on 26.29 thanks to Greg Chambers finding the net assisted by Campbell and Weaver.

The Blaze continued to get in more shots than their opponents but it was still 2-1 going into the third period.

On 45.19, it was 3-1 to the Blaze when a shot from Jon Weaver from the blue line rebounded off net minder Tommy Sandahls pads and was tapped in by Joe Henry.

Hull kept fighting and were back in the game on 53.16 when Matthew Davies was given space at the back to fire home assisted by Esders and former Blaze star Sylvain Cloutier who is a player coach at the Stingrays,

Another tense finish ensued until Dan Carlson put the result beyond doubt when he netted on 58.22 on a power play, assisted by Chambers and Calder.

Next Saturday, the Blaze travel to Newcastle Vipers for an Elite League fixture before taking on the Cardiff Devils at the Sky Dome on Sunday in a Challenge Cup tie.
