Blaze Take Bronze

Coventry Blaze took the Bronze Medal in the Play-Offs at Nottingham today.

Having been beaten 5-1 by Belfast Giants yesterday, the Blaze took on Cardiff Devils and were a goal down on 4.05 when Chris Blight scored.

On 8.56, Greg Leeb Dale levelled, assisted by Derek Campbell and Dale White.

Luke Piggott put Cardiff back in front on 9.11 only for Shea Guthrie to level again on 10.02, assisted by Josh Bruce and Dustin Cameron.

Guthrie turned provider as the Blaze went 3-2 up through Adam Henrich forty two seconds later with another assist for Josh Bruce.

Chris Blight levelled on 10.54 but before the first period ended, Dale White had two more assists as he set up Dunstin Cameron for Coventry's fourth on 13.28 and Derek Campbell on 17.11.

Shea Guthrie, assisted by Ross Venus and Dustin Cameron made it 6-3 on 21.55 and it was seven when Adam Henrich scored, assisted by Cameron and Guthrie on 28.49.

Blight took his tally of goals to four when he completed his hat-trick on 30.26 and a fourth a minute and thirty seconds into the third period.

The Blaze responded to this with four goals in the space of three minutes.

Mike Bayrack netted, assisted by James Griffin and Ross Venus on 49.21 and Brad Leeb scored, assisted by Mike Schutte and Greg Leeb on 51.44.

It was ten when Dustin Cameron scored, assisted by Shea Guthrie and Ross Venus completed an 11-5 win when he scored on 52.48, assisted by Sam Smith and Mike Bayrack.
