Blaze Suffer P&O Defeat

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey team went down to a 3-2 defeat against the Geleen Eaters tonight in a four team P&O cup semi-final.

Hull Stingrays beat Tilburg 8-2 in the opening game at the Sky Dome and into the second, The Blaze lead through a goal on 15.38 when Arron Nell found the net, assisted by Farmer and Brittel.

The visitors equalised on 26.18 with a goal from Workman assisted by Glasser but two minutes later, Coventry who held a fitting tribute to Wade Balek before the game, went back in front through Domish.

Geleen levelled on 35.40 through Gielen who fired through Hirsch's legs, assisted by Burgess and then booked their place in tomorrow's final against Hull with a goal from Mens with 27 seconds remaining.
