Coventry Blaze completed a weekend double victory over the Newcastle Vipers with a 6-3 victory tonight.

After their 5-2 victory at Newcastle last night, it was all back to the Sky Dome for Game Two.

Newcastle were the first to get on the scoreboard when Mike Berry netted on 4.27. That lead lasted until 8.19 when Greg Chambers scored assisted by Jon Weaver to tie the game.

The shots count had Blaze 14-10 up at the end of the first period but Newcastle hit a second on 32.14 with a controversial power play goal that Blaze net minder Peter Hirsch who objected to. Mark Roonem was the player who scored, that many of those there thought never was.

The Blaze fans were back cheering on 38.23 when Adam Calder drew the Blaze level for a second time, assisted by Fulghum and Chambers. Then on 39.08, Greg Chambers was announced as the scorer of the third goal for Coventry Blaze but some of the crowd felt that it was Dan Carlson who was in front of the net to fire in.

3-2 to the Blaze became 4-2 on 42.30 thanks to Dan Carlson finding the net, assisted by Danny Stewart and Jason Robinson.

On 54.05, Blaze went nap as Greg Chambers hit his second of the night, assisted by Calder and Weaver.

Just after Luke Fulgham had received treatment for puck in the face, Newcastle pulled another goal back through Matic Kralj on 55.17.

Twenty seven seconds from the end, Coventry completed their weekend double when Luke Fulghum scored an empty net goal.
