Blaze Lose At Nottingham

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey were beaten 5-3 in a Challenge Cup tie at Nottingham Panthers tonight.

The game at the Nottingham Ice Arena was only 44 seconds old when Francis gave the Panthers the lead, assisted by Norton and it was two on 14.31 when Wren scored, assisted by Francis & Clarke. 

Into the second period and the Blaze drew level when Michael Devin scored a powerplay goal on 23.41, assisted by Adam Henrich and on 38.07, Cale Tanaka made it 2-2, assisted by Kevin Harvey and Brian McMillin.

Eight minutes and twelve into the third period and Nottingham were back in front thanks to Salters scoring assisted by Murray and Francis and then they went in front with an unassisted Loyns short handed goal.

In the 55th minute, it was five when Ryan scored an unassisted goal but twenty five seconds later, Cale Tanaka scored a third for the Blaze with a penalty stroke. 

But it was not enough and the Blaze were beaten.
