Coventry Blaze were beaten in the first Semi-Final of the Play-Offs in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon.

With a team containing a number of injuries, the Blaze trailed to a powerplay goal from Phil Hill on 10.03 and a second 53 seconds later from Matt Miller.

Luke Fulghum reduced the arrears on 11.53, assisted by Derek Campbell and Dan Carlson but another poor second period from the Blaze saw Cardiff score twice through a powerplay goal from Matt Miller on 26.04 and a second for Phil Hill on 35.06.

Fulghum made it 2-4, one minute and sixteen seconds in the third period when he scored, assisted by Jon Weaver and Adam Calder in his final ever Blaze appearance.

Less than four minutes later, Brad Cruickshank tied the game when he found the net, assisted by Carlson and Soderstrom but Cardiff hit back with two more goals from Jay Latulippe on 50.55 and Max Birbraer to book their place in Sunday's final against Belfast Giants who beat Nottingham Panthers.
