Blaze Hit For Eight In Belfast

Coventry Blaze were hit for eight at Belfast Giants on Saturday night.

After Friday night's 5-2 win for the Blaze, Noah Clarke had the Giants ahead on 7.36 but Coventry levelled on 15.07 with a powerplay goal from Adam Heinrich with assists from Dunstin Cameron and Greg Leeb.

But Belfast went into the start of the second period with a 3-1 lead thanks to goals from Matt Towe on 18.20 and Chad Langlais eighteen seconds later.

Coventry scored the only goal of the second period through Dustin Cameron on 24.26, assisted by Adam Heinrich.

The third period was a nightmre for Paul Thompson's side. Firstly, Gareth Roberts scored a fourth on 44.09, followed by one from Craig Peacock on 44.27.

Goal number six came with Benn Olson out of the game with a twenty minute penalty for misconduct after he had received five minutes for slashing, through Daymen Rycroft on 57.36.

Then, Noah Clarke scored on the powerplay on 58.03 and Rycroft scored an eighth goal also on the powerplay with 34 seconds of the match remaining to see the Blaze beaten 8-2.
