Blaze Hit For Eight At Nottingham

Coventry Blaze went down 8-3 tonight in an Elite League game at Nottingham Panthers.

There were no goals in the opening period but in the second, Dustin Cameron fired the Blaze ahead on 22.37 with a short handed goal, assisted by Mike Bayrack.

Then on 30.16, Greg Leeb made it two when he scored assisted by Derek Campbell.

Unfortunately, it did not last and Nottingham hit back with a goal from Matt Myers on 34.25, a second from David Clarke on 38.26 and a third from Jon Weaver on 39.35.

A second goal for David Clarke on 43. 30 had Nottingham 4-2 up before Mike Egener hit a third for the Blaze, assisted by Derek Campbell on 48.45.

Eleven seconds later, there was fifth for the Panthers from Bruce Graham and on 50.01, a sixth from Matt Francis.

With Dustin Cameron getting a ten minute penalty for ungentlemanly conduct, Nottingham had the powerplay and Pat Gailvan scored a seventh on 50-19.

On 56.36, Clarke completed his hat-trick when he scored to give the Panthers an 8-3 win.
