Blaze Hit Edinburgh For Six

Coventry Blaze Ice Hockey Club hit Edinburgh Capitals for six in an Elite League game tonight at the Sky Dome.



Nottingham born Robert Farmer opened the scoring for the Blaze on 2.28, assisted by Nell and Selsmer, following a scramble in front of the net and nineteen seconds later, Owen Fussey added a second, assisted by Luke Fulghum and Dan Carlson.

On 8.49, it was 3-0 when Greg Owen scored a short-handed goal, assisted by Cruickshank and Soderstrom and before the half ended, Edinburgh pulled one back thanks to Taylor scoring a short-handed goal on 16.54.

The Blaze had 15 shots in the first period compared to Edinburgh's three and Coventry kept the pressure on with Sean Selsmer finding the net on 32.17, assisted by Weaver and Lee.



Taylor scored a second for the visitors on 33.26 only for Owen Fussey to hit a fifth for the Blaze on 36.17 with a powerplay goal, assisted by Weaver and Fulghum.

Five minutes into the third period, Greg Owen wrapped up a good night's work when he hit the sixth assisted by Cruickshank and Weaver.

On Saturday, the Blaze are at Braehead Clan before facing Dundee Stars at the Sky Dome on Sunday night.
